AN INCLUSIVE SHOWCASE OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART

The exhibition showcases striking professional portraits of the adults who attend Nickel Support, taken by local photographer Yani Yordanova from Nova Photo Atelier.

The portraits show trainees how they feel strongest, most confident, and most like themselves, revealing the real people behind the disability. The exhibition aims to challenge societal perceptions of learning disability, offering a personal insight into lives and identities often overlooked or misunderstood.

“This isn’t just an art exhibition - it’s a bold statement,”

Nick Walsh, Co-Founder at Nickel Support.

ART SESSIONS WITH LOCAL ARTISTS

In addition to the portraits, the exhibition will display a wonderful selection of artwork created by our trainees in art sessions with local artists Kate Marsden and Jo Sharpe. Huge thanks to Arts Network Sutton who funded this project which the trainees enjoyed immensely.

PHOTOGRAPHER +  SPONSORS

We couldn't have put this exhibition together without our wonderful, talented and patient photographer - Yani Yordanova at Nova Photo Atelier. Yani is a local photographer specialising in contemporary portraits.

We also want to say a huge thank you to our very generous sponsors The RTR Foundation, Bedrock Human Resources and SM1 print plus our talented artists Kate Marsden and Jo Sharpe. Thank you so much to all of you for helping us to 'challenge perceptions' of disability and difference in society.

We are so grateful to the Honeywood Museum (and previously The Whitehall Historic House) for hosting the exhibition and being so cooperative in terms of the finer details in the run-up.
