Elena is responsible for the day to day running of Nickel Support. She ensures trainees, staff, parents and carers are all okay. She will probably be the first person you will meet when you come to Nickel Support and will make you feel very welcome. Elena is a qualified social worker, with many years experience in the learning disabilities field.
NICK - Operations Manager
Nick is responsible for much of the behind scenes work such as finance and HR. He has had many years experience in working with people with learning disabilities. He is very passionate about people with learning disabilities finding their place in their community and gaining paid employment.
DAVE – Enterprise Manager
Dave has been brought into the team to share his 20 years’ worth of retail knowledge. His role is to grow the Community Shop and increase the income in order to achieve more paid employment opportunities for the trainees. He is an approachable and fun member of the team, so pop into the Nickel Support Community Shop to say hi.
KATY – HR Lead
As Nickel Support has grown, we have brought in top people in roles that require expertise. In Katy, we definitely have an expert and she helped re-work and shape all of our back-office functions. She has quickly become our go to woman when dealing with all HR related issues, and this has helped professionalise the service Nickel Support offer.
ASHLEY – Social Media & Branding Lead
Ashley is responsible for maintaining and developing this wonderful website. Her background is in print design and she is able to utilise these skills with her role at Nickel Support. Her main duty since working with Nickel Support is leading on the re-brand, and we are very pleased with the job she has done. She also manages content on our social media outlets, delivering a snap shot of what Nickel Support offers. Ashley is a hardworking and dedicated member of the team and always strives for perfection.
ROY - Lead Support Worker
Roy is a creative and fun member of the team, with many years experience in the learning disability field. When he is not singing along to the radio you will find him pretty much involved in all aspects of Nickel Support. He is primarily involved with the running of the shop and up-cycling.
HARRIET – Support Worker
Harriet will mostly be found supporting the team with sessions and has quickly become a real asset to Nickel Support. She has undertaken bank work with Nickel Support previously and we were not slow in offering her a full-time position when it came up. Harriet is quietly confident and has quickly made a fantastic positive impression on trainees and staff alike.
TOM - Support Worker
Tom has many years experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and thinks in an innovative and creative way. He is a strong contributor to the team meetings and has developed good relationships with trainees, based on trust, mutual respect and understanding.
SCOTT – Support Worker
Scott has been involved with Nickel Support for many years and we are so pleased that he made the decision to leave the building trade behind him (well for one day a week at least!) and join the team. He instantly made a great impression on the trainees, with banter and his dedication to the ‘upcycling’ team. Scott is also pretty handy to have around the place just in case we need a repair here and there!
JO - Support Worker
Nickel Support were delighted to get Jo on board and she is a very welcome addition to the team. Although she does not have a learning disability background, we were impressed by her energy and warmth. Jo is a local resident of Carshalton and is an active member of the community, for example she is a volunteer with Sutton Community Farm where she helps out with the packing of the veg boxes.
We have many bank staff team members who work varying hours throughout the week, without whom Nickel Support would not function anywhere near as well. If you feel you can offer something to the team and would like to become part of an progressive and revolutionary organisation, then please check out our 'Work for Us' page.
